Obviously not my own photo, nor really a “photo” in the traditional sense of what I hope this site to promote, but cool none-the-less. In an era when writers are claiming left and right that they knew where their stories would go the whole time (see George Lucas), it seems that some can support their claim. This is a photo of J.K. Rowling’s spreadsheet as she is planning out her fifth book, The Order of the Phoenix.
Full picture after the break.
It’s really cool to look not only at the major events that dominate the story in the first few columns, but also the subplots that continue in “real-time” throughout the book even if they’re not mentioned.
I should also mention that Rowling posted this a few years ago on her personal website (who knew?) but I found it recently courtesy of /Film.
P.S. Yeah, I’m a nerd.
